The Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC) is introducing changes to some building and plumbing application and payment processes, with services progressively moving fully online from 19 October 2026.

The changes are part of the BPC's ongoing effort to make its services simpler, faster and more secure for customers. For applications affected by the change, manual application forms and payment methods will no longer be available.

Most building and plumbing practitioners already submit applications and make payments online, so many customers will not notice any change. However, those who still rely on paper forms or manual payment processes are encouraged to prepare now to avoid delays.

The BPC is asking practitioners to review their current processes and ensure they are registered to use online payments through the BPC Portal before the changes take effect.

Moving services online is expected to streamline application processing and provide a more efficient experience for applicants.

Customers seeking more information about the changes, including which applications are affected, should visit Builder registration applications or Plumbing registration and licensing.
