This document contains a summary of terms of cover set out in legislation for the Victorian First Resort Home Warranty Scheme (Home Warranty) for domestic building work carried out by an owner-builder and covered by a Notice of Cover issued on or after 14 October 2026.
The Summary of Cover sets out the terms, conditions, benefits, limitations and exclusions that apply under Home Warranty for owner-builder domestic building projects. It should be read together with the Notice of Cover issued for the domestic building work undertaken by the owner-builder, which contains information specific to the project.
Homeowners, subsequent owners, purchasers and other interested parties should refer to both documents to understand how Home Warranty operates and the assistance that may be available under Home Warranty.
