The Victorian Building Authority’s Proactive Inspections Program (PIP) Activity Report for Q1 2022 to 2023 provides an overview of proactive building and plumbing compliance inspections undertaken across Victoria. During the quarter, the VBA conducted 2,406 inspections across 58 municipalities, identifying compliance risks in 51% of sites inspected. The report details common building and plumbing non-compliances, enforcement and rectification activities, compliance trends across residential and commercial projects, and the VBA’s efforts to improve construction quality through early intervention. A special feature examines swimming pool permit inspections, highlighting common safety risks associated with temporary pool fencing and child safety barriers.
