The Building Special Advisory Panel (BSAP) and Plumbing Special Advisory Panel (PSAP) are advisory bodies to the Commissioner.
The Panels were created under the direction of the Minister for Housing and Building to support good governance and the program of change already underway. The panels are comprised of independent members who have the knowledge and skills to contribute advice and industry insight to the Commissioner.
The BSAP and PSAP provide advice to the Commissioner on:
- Our practices and performance
- Industry practices and performance
- Improving the consumer experience
- Local, national, and international factors that impact on industry behaviours, consumer outcomes, and compliance with Victorian laws
- New technologies, consumer trends and emerging risks that are expected to impact the building industry and consumers
- Future regulatory reforms and changes to our policies or practices
The panels meets at minimum 6 times a year and are each comprised of members who are appointed by the Commissioner in consultation with the Minister for Housing and Building.
