Plumber classes and categories

Main classes

A person registered or licensed in a Main class can lawfully carry out the scope of work that falls under that main class. A person may be registered in one or more main classes.

Specialised classes

Plumbers registered or licensed in a specialised class are authorised to carry out advanced or ‘specialised’ plumbing work.  All specialised classes have a ‘parent’ main class. To be eligible to apply for registration or licence in a specialised class, you must first hold registration or licence in the parent class.

Restricted classes

All restricted plumbing classes have a ‘parent’ main class. Persons who hold registration or licensing in a restricted plumbing class are authorised to carry out restricted components of the parent main class. You may hold more than one restricted class if eligible.
