If the work changes

You may need to update the premium paid for Home Warranty if the contract, value or scope of work changes.

This may include where:

  • the contract price changes
  • the scope of work changes
  • work is added or removed
  • the contract is cancelled or does not proceed
  • information submitted for the Notice of Cover is incorrect.

If the scope or value changes

If the work changes, the applicable premium may need to be reviewed and the Notice of Cover amended.

Contact your approved distributor if the contract, value or scope of work changes.

If the work for an eligible project is varied by more than $5,000, you must pay an additional applicable premium to cover that additional work.

Partial refunds

A partial refund may be available where domestic building work is varied.

For example, if the domestic building work is reduced and the premium for the work that is not proceeding is $800, that $800 is subtracted from the premium paid.

Check amended information

If an amended Notice of Cover is issued, check that it matches the updated contract and work.
